Maka's Surf Shop is the playground of mine, Matthew Gallagher. Maka, as I was told by a nice Hawaiian man I met during my honeymoon, is the closest Hawaiian equivalent to Matthew. It sounded like a strong name, and I adopted it over time for this site.
